I am not a big fan of oil pulling. But after stop using commercial mouthwash a few years ago, I switch to water pulling and oil pulling instead. In terms of oil pulling benefit to oral health, there are many articles about it on the web. People are divided on the subject.
This reason why I am doing oil pulling is simply because the mechanical act of swishing helps remove particles and bacteria from teeth and gums. Meanwhile, coconut oil can help fighting with inflammation and lavender is good for gums. Here, I do not suggest adding lavender essential oil to your oil pulling chews unless you can find a very high quality and eatible one. Lavender essential oil used for making soap and other body care products may not suitable for eating.
Here is my recipe of Organic Lavender Coconut Oil Pulling Chews:
Ingredients:
1. Organic Virgin Coconut Oil: 4 parts
2. Organic Culinary Lavender: 1 part
Instructions:
1. Finely grind Organic Culinary Lavender by using Vitamix or coffee grinder.
2. Mix Coconut oil with lavender powder well and store the mixture in an air tied glass jar.
How to Use: 1- 2 tsp each time.
